Water Island

Our Beautiful Island

Water Island, the smallest and least developed of the US Virgin Islands offers its guests a holiday of quiet seclusion. Simple white sand beaches, crystal clear water, and the sound of palm fronds rustling in the breeze represent some of the biggest attractions on Water Island. It is truly a tropical vacation for purists. There are no major hotels, expansive resorts, or commercialization of any kind. Visitors are welcome to explore the quaint condos and villa rentals, all situated on quiet pieces of enchanting real estate. Walk through the remains of old military forts and plantations, kayak a tranquil bay, relax on the beach or enjoy a refreshing drink while watching the sunset. Water Island delivers the basic and most essential island amenities, allowing guests to relax in the harmony of sea, sand, and sun.

Things To Do

Guests to Water Island can spend their day kayaking along the quiet shorelines of Elephant Bay or Flamingo Point. Snorkeling and scuba diving are very popular and nearly every beach has an excellent choice of exotic fish and coral. Guests who want to take to the water can spend the day aboard an experienced fishing charter. Water Island also makes for a great day trip from nearby St. Thomas, where guests can travel to the island by ferry, sail boat, or motor boat charter.

Places To Go

Water Island is lucky to be home to some fascinating ruins. Fort Segarra was an underground defense base constructed during WWII to protect the marine forces in St. Thomas. The fort was never completed, but visitors can still explore the underground chambers and tunnels. After touring the fort guests can hike to the Carolina Point Plantation to view the remains of housing structures, clay ovens, and masonry foundations. After a day exploring historical ruins guests should spend some time at Honeymoon Beach, a long stretch of pearl white sand with excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities, perfect for a day with the family or a romantic sunset stroll.

Getting Around The Island

Water Island is small enough that guests can easily walk to different areas. There are no car rental agencies, public transport, or taxis. Some rentals properties may include the use of a golf cart or bicycles.

Getting To and From The Island
