The boat used by Captain Bob as well as by all flats fishermen is a specialized craft, designed for operation in shallow waters typical to the Florida Keys flats. It is a shallow draft, flat skiff with a tower at the stern from which Captain Bob can pole the boat into the very shallow waters and spot the fish toward which you will be casting. It offers a stable platform from which to cast and onto which to land your fish.
